The Significance of Google-
Google was created by computer scientists Larry Page and Sergey Brin. The development of google began in 1996 but launched and took off in 1999. Larry Page and Sergey Brin developed google after the great reviews that their original search engine “Backrub” received. Google received a patent in 2001 and Larry Page was listed as the inventor. Google is a technology company that allows people to search whatever they want information on through the web. Google includes a search engine, cloud computing, software, hardware and online advertising technologies. Google is considered one of the 4 of the biggest technology companies in the world.
The development of google has many positive factors but can also have some negatives too. Positive factors of google include, the company introducing a variety of products, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Drive, Google Voice, and a web browser called Chrome. It also acquired streaming video platforms YouTube and Blogger.com. Google allows people to collect any piece of information or data on the world wide web and Google has created a place of creation and storage of information that has expanded exponentially. People have access to information that can lead them to making new discoveries and discoveries can be shared with the world due to the culture of sharing that has been central to the invention of Google. Some negative factors of google is it has led many people to find their information online only, putting newspapers and publishers out of business and with the use of google, many people can put information out to the world and some of the information has the possibility of being untruthful and even harmful in certain situations.
